From beginner courses to offshore sailing – learn to sail on the Fjord
Germany's largest and most traditional sailing school, founded in 1925. The HYS is located directly at Glücksburg's yacht harbour with views across the fjord to the Danish coast. From beginner courses on a dinghy to offshore sailing on a yacht – thousands learn to sail here every year. The school belongs to the German Offshore Sports Association Hansa (DHH).
The traditional Flensborg Yacht Club – 'the club with the o' – is located in Fahrensodde yacht harbour on the southern shore of the fjord. The club offers weekly sailing lessons from May to September (approx. 6–9 pm) as well as individual training sessions. Ideal for those who want to sail regularly.
For over 140 years, the Segelclub Baltic has been sailing with families and friends on the Baltic Sea. The club places special emphasis on youth development and offers an extensive range of theoretical and practical courses.
Windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingfoiling at the best spots
Located right on the Holnis peninsula, this water sports school is the closest provider to Villa Boreal. Whether windsurfing, kitesurfing, wingfoiling or stand-up paddling – beginners and advanced alike will find what they're looking for. The shallow standing-depth areas on Holnis are ideal for learning.

Licence-free motorboats and electric boats on the Fjord
FLY & SAIL operates a water sports and seaplane station on the fjord promenade in Flensburg-Sonwik.
