WHY EASTER ON THE FJORD
April on the Flensburg Fjord is the best-kept secret in northern Germany.
The crowds aren't here yet. The beach chairs are out, but no one is sitting in them. The beech trees on the cliffs have just opened their first bright-green leaves, and the light is different from later in the year — deeper, clearer, with long shadows on the water.

The fjord cycle path starts at the door. In April the route to Holnis or to Flensburg is almost empty — perfect for long rides with a constant fjord view.
Fresh cutter fish in Langballigau
From April the cutters head out again — cod, plaice and herring come straight off the boat in Langballigau (~15 min). Unbeatable for the Good Friday meal.
