Glücksburg is not a loud New Year's town. No big event, no central fireworks, no crowds — and that's exactly what makes it perfect. From your terrace and the jetty you'll see the small private fireworks all along the fjord, mirrored in the water.
Across the fjord, fireworks from Sønderborg and Kruså (DK) are visible — and on the western horizon the larger Flensburg fireworks, 18 kilometres away. A 360-degree light show you won't experience this quietly anywhere else.
💡 Tip
The jetty is lit in the evening — we recommend going down around 11:45 pm with champagne and a wool blanket. The water reflects the fireworks, and the silence between the bursts is what you'll remember in January.
