For a **waterfront holiday home on the Flensburg Fjord**, a sea view alone is not enough: actual shore access, location and rental terms matter. This guide helps you choose a holiday base and explains what Villa Boreal’s location in Bockholm near Glücksburg offers. ## Location and rental terms at a glance - Villa Boreal: Bockholm near Glücksburg · German shore of the Flensburg Fjord - Main house and beach house are rented together only - Direct beach access from the grounds · private 15-metre bathing jetty - Dogs on request · confirm conditions before booking - 250 m² main house · 50 m² beach house · 1,060 m² grounds - Up to 8 guests · Minimum stay 3 nights ## Flensburg, Glücksburg or Holnis: choosing your holiday base The Flensburg Fjord is a Baltic Sea inlet between Germany and Denmark. Distinguishing a town-based stay from a coastal one helps you choose your holiday home. **Flensburg** offers a harbour, old town and culture for a city day. **Glücksburg** combines a castle, woodland and beaches. **Bockholm and Holnis** suit holidays centred on coastal walks and time beside the water. These are different holiday styles, not a ranking of quality. Check the individual property’s location and routes to shops, the beach and places to visit. Our guides to Flensburg (https://villa-boreal.de/en/flensburg-sehenswuerdigkeiten), Glücksburg (https://villa-boreal.de/en/gluecksburg-sehenswuerdigkeiten) and Holnis (https://villa-boreal.de/en/holnis) help you plan. ## A waterfront holiday home on the Flensburg Fjord: beyond the view **Sea views, proximity to a beach and direct shore access are different things.** A fjord-view photograph does not reveal roads, neighbouring plots or a public path between the house and water. Before agreeing to a stay, ask whether you can walk from the grounds to the beach, what the shoreline is like and which recent photographs show the access. Villa Boreal has direct beach access from its grounds and a private bathing jetty. This does not mean the beach is exclusive or swimming is always safe. Weather, wind and water levels still matter. Read more on our waterfront holiday home page (https://villa-boreal.de/en/ferienhaus-ostsee-direkt-am-wasser). ## Bockholm near Glücksburg: staying at Villa Boreal Villa Boreal is on the German side of the fjord in Bockholm near Glücksburg. You rent a private estate comprising a main house and beach house, not two separately bookable apartments. Shared holiday time can be balanced with quieter spaces. The garden leads to the beach, with a private jetty adding to shore access. Layout and the facilities you want to use during your stay also matter when choosing a property. Our photo gallery (https://villa-boreal.de/en/bilder) shows the estate; the beach house guide (https://villa-boreal.de/en/strandhaus-ostsee) describes the smaller building in detail. Guest capacity and minimum stay apply to the whole estate. ## Exploring the fjord: coastal walks, city days and Denmark A holiday week need not revolve around the same beach each day. Combine a walk on Holnis (https://villa-boreal.de/en/holnis) with Glücksburg Castle and a harbour day in Flensburg. For longer outings, use our walking and cycling guide (https://villa-boreal.de/en/wandern-radfahren); the Denmark day-trip guide (https://villa-boreal.de/en/tagesausflug-daenemark) covers the other side of the fjord. Boat trips offer another view of the coast, but depend on current timetables and the season. Visitor information from the Flensburg Fjord tourism region (https://www.flensburger-foerde.de/en/) and Glücksburg tourist information (https://www.gluecksburg-urlaub.de/) helps with planning. Keep to open, designated paths in nature areas. ## Dogs, pool and sauna: check the conditions Dogs are welcome at Villa Boreal **on request**. State the type and number of pets and confirm conditions and any additional charges. Permission at the house does not override local beach and lead rules; a fully enclosed garden is not promised here. See our holiday with dogs guide (https://villa-boreal.de/en/hund). The estate includes a heated outdoor pool, sauna and whirlpool. **The outdoor pool is heated and usable all year round**. Supervision should be part of planning time with children at the beach, jetty or pool. ## Renting on the Flensburg Fjord: comparing the whole stay Compare more than the nightly rate: consider the property, season, guest capacity and included services for your entire stay. Villa Boreal’s seasonal rates cover the main house and beach house together. Final cleaning, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included according to the rental information. Current rates are listed below. Use the booking page (https://villa-boreal.de/en/booking) to share your dates, guest numbers and any dog travelling with you. An enquiry is not a confirmed booking; availability and conditions are clarified for your stay. This helps match a waterfront location with the rental terms you actually need.
